En El viento común, Scott indagó en un Caribe oculto por las narrativas coloniales,en el que personas «sin amos» potenciaron espíritu de subversión constantetránsito;3 auténtico ejercicio historia movimiento. Mediante excelente trabajode archivo y una extensa revisión bibliográfica, logró recuperar experiencias e ideasafroamericanas del mundo antillano su alcance a través mar la era larevolución haitiana.
